Once upon a time, in the corner of a quiet garden, a little baby spider named Sunny had just hatched. He had eight tiny legs, eight shiny eyes, and a very big question:

“Mom,” he asked one morning, “how am I ever going to find food? I’m so small, and the world is so big. All those bugs fly around so fast. I’ll never catch one!”

Mother Webbie chuckled softly. “Oh, Sunny, you don’t need to chase them. God gave you a special gift: you can spin webs.”

Sunny tilted his little head. “A web? That seems too easy. Don’t bugs see webs? They’ll just fly around them!”

Mother Webbie shook her head. “That’s the thing, Sunny. You see the web because you’re a spider. But insects don’t see the world like we do. Their eyes miss the webs. And even if they do bump into it, the web is sticky. Once they touch it, no matter how hard they wiggle, they can’t escape.”

Sunny’s eyes grew wide. “Really? But where should I build it?”

Mother Webbie pointed her leg toward the garden lamp. “See that light? Bugs love the light. They can’t help but fly toward it, even if they don’t know why. If you build your web near the light, the insects will come right to you. That’s your strength, Sunny: building webs in smart places.”

So Sunny tried. At first his threads were wobbly, and the web didn’t hold. But he practiced and practiced, and soon his web stretched strong and perfect across the glow of the lamp. That very night, a little moth fluttered too close to the light and—snap!—it landed in Sunny’s web. Sunny was amazed.

“Mom! It worked!” he shouted with joy.

Mother Webbie smiled. “Yes, Sunny. Remember this: God gave you the strength to build webs. The insects can’t see them, and they can’t break free. When you use your strength wisely, you’ll always have what you need.”

Sunny caught a mosquito.

The Lesson for Us

Sunny’s story isn’t just about spiders—it’s about people too.

Every person, just like Sunny, has special strengths that God gave them. Maybe you’re great at drawing, maybe you can make people laugh, maybe you’re good at solving problems. Those strengths are like your web.

Other people, like the insects, see the world differently. They have needs, weaknesses, or blind spots. When you use your strengths to help them, they’ll come to you—just like bugs fly to the light.

In the business world, this is how it works too. A business owner doesn’t just “chase” customers around. Instead, they build their “web” with their skills and services, and place it where their ideal customers are already drawn. Customers don’t even notice the strategy—they just feel helped, served, and cared for.

The Big Idea 🌟

Like Sunny the spider, you don’t need to chase everything in life. Use the gifts God gave you. Build your web wisely. And remember: when you use your strengths to serve others, the right people will be drawn to you.
